Code Ann. § 7-39-103","heading":"Qualifications of incorporator or director of energy acquisition corporation","body":"An incorporator or a director of an energy acquisition corporation must be a natural person who meets any of the following qualifications:\n(1) With respect to a natural person seeking to act as an incorporator or director of an energy acquisition corporation organized or proposed to be organized with respect to and for the benefit of a county or incorporated city, town or metropolitan government, a duly qualified elector of and taxpayer in the county or incorporated city, town or metropolitan government;\n(2) With respect to a natural person seeking to act as an incorporator or director of an energy acquisition corporation organized or proposed to be organized with respect to and for the benefit of a utility district or gas, electric or energy authority, a resident and landowner within the boundaries of the utility district or gas, electric or energy authority;\n(3) A member of the governing body of the municipality with respect to and for the benefit of which the energy acquisition corporation is organized or proposed to be organized; or\n(4) An employee of the energy distribution system of the municipality with respect to which and for the benefit of which the energy acquisition corporation is organized or proposed to be organized.","path":["TN Code","Title 7","Chapter 39"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"5653f50fe75fe496f4e7a56311d302ad03728247efa34ec085158791b35836e6","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-7-39-102","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-7-39-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
