Code Ann. § 7-84-603","heading":"Part definitions","body":"As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Assessed value\" means value as assessed for municipal property tax purposes;\n(2) \"District\" or \"inner-city redevelopment district\" means the inner-city redevelopment district created by the establishment ordinance of the municipality;\n(3) \"District management corporation\" means the board or organization created or appointed pursuant to § 7-84-619 ;\n(4) \"Establishment ordinance\" means the ordinance of the governing body adopted pursuant to § 7-84-615 establishing a district;\n(5) \"Governing body\" means the council, commission, board or other body exercising general legislative power in the municipality;\n(6) \"Initiating petition\" means the petition filed pursuant to § 7-84-611(a)(1) requesting the establishment of a district pursuant to this part;\n(7) \"Initiating resolution\" means the resolution adopted by the governing body pursuant to § 7-84-611(a)(2) proposing to establish a district pursuant to this part;\n(8) \"Municipality\" means any incorporated city, town or metropolitan government of this state exercising general governmental functions in the state; and\n(9) \"Owner\" means record owner in fee, or duly authorized representative.","path":["TN Code","Title 7","Chapter 84"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"daf9ac26ca3eae5a4b80a9f5f4045903de155464bad94d30785387281cb0447e","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-7-84-602","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-7-84-604"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
