Code Ann. § 8-36-913","heading":"Applying for a disability retirement benefit","body":"Any participant may apply for a disability retirement benefit pursuant to the provisions and criteria set forth in part 5 of this chapter. All of part 5 of this chapter shall be applicable, except that the disability retirement allowance shall be equal to nine-tenths ( 9 / 10 ) of a service retirement allowance as computed in § 8-36-907 and as may be further reduced in accordance with part 5 of this chapter. Sections 8-36-124 and 8-36-209 shall not apply in determining any disability retirement benefit allowance payable under this section.
