Code Ann. § 8-4-502","heading":"Part definitions","body":"As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Public entity\" means any branch or agency of a county, municipality, public utility, utility district, entity created pursuant to any interlocal agreement, or any other political subdivision thereof;\n(2) \"Public official\" means a person elected or appointed to any office of a public entity;\n(3) \"Reasonable amount of time\" means any amount of time that is reasonable under the particular circumstances, but shall not under any circumstances exceed five (5) working days; and\n(4) \"Unlawful conduct\" means theft, forgery, credit or debit card fraud, or any other act of unlawful taking, waste, or abuse of, or official misconduct, as defined in § 39-16-402 , involving public money, property, or services.","path":["TN Code","Title 8","Chapter 4"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"ca04759ca21bc3408bb7a2ea47f25a902fee71bfb5445b140ba774d3abbe7916","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-8-4-501","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-8-4-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
