Code Ann. § 9-8-205","heading":"Authority of board of claims","body":"Notwithstanding any law to the contrary and in addition to the board of claims' authority set forth in § 9-8-108 , the board of claims is authorized to:\n(1) Establish the type or types of insurance and the insurance limits as excess insurance coverage necessary to carry out the purposes of this part;\n(2) Purchase or procure the insurance policy or policies with the fund as the insured;\n(3) Establish the effective date for which insurance coverage will be provided;\n(4) Enter into contracts with financial consultants, actuaries, auditors, investment managers, individual attorneys, law firms, and other consultants and professionals as necessary to effectuate the purposes of this part;\n(5) Establish the process for the administration of claims filed pursuant to this part;\n(6) Recommend annually to the commissioner of finance and administration the total occurrence basis funding required to satisfy the liabilities arising under this part; and\n(7) Promulgate rules that are necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this part.","path":["TN Code","Title 9","Chapter 8"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"f9610cb84dfcecb3a39b4acb86858baaa4ff2608efb04561258acf5caa675e7f","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-9-8-204","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-9-8-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
