Agriculture Code § 48.001","heading":"CREATION.","body":"(a) Consistent with this chapter, the department by rule shall develop a program to award grants to public elementary and middle schools located in large urban school districts for the purpose of establishing:\n(1) demonstration agricultural projects; or\n(2) other projects designed to foster an understanding and awareness of agriculture.\n(b) The department may award a grant under this chapter to a nonprofit organization that partners with a school described by Subsection (a) to establish a project described by Subsection (a) at the school.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 975, Sec. 1, eff.
