Business \u0026 Commerce Code § 324.054","heading":"OTHER PROHIBITED CONDUCT.","body":"A person other than the owner or operator of the computer may not:\n(1) induce the owner or operator of a computer in this state to install a computer software component to the computer by intentionally misrepresenting the extent to which the installation is necessary:\n(A) for security or privacy reasons;\n(B) to open or view text; or\n(C) to play a particular type of musical or other content; or\n(2) copy and execute or cause the copying and execution of a computer software component to a computer in this state in a deceptive manner with the intent to cause the owner or operator of the computer to use the component in a manner that violates this chapter.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 885 (H.B. 2278), Sec. 2.01, eff.
