Business \u0026 Commerce Code § 601.001","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this chapter:\n(1) \"Consumer\" means an individual who seeks or acquires real property, money or other personal property, services, or credit for personal, family, or household purposes.\n(2) \"Consumer transaction\" means a transaction between a merchant and one or more consumers.\n(3) \"Merchant\" means a party to a consumer transaction other than a consumer.\n(4) \"Merchant's place of business\" means a merchant's main or permanent branch office or local address. For a state or national bank or savings and loan association, the term includes an approved branch office and a registered loan production office.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 885 (H.B. 2278), Sec. 2.01, eff.
