Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 101.105","heading":"SETTLEMENT.","body":"(a) A cause of action under this chapter may be settled and compromised by the governmental unit if, in a case involving the state the governor determines, or if, in other cases the governing body of the governmental unit determines, that the compromise is in the best interests of the governmental unit.\n(b) Approval is not required if the governmental unit has acquired insurance under this chapter.\nActs 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 959, Sec. 1, eff.
