Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 140A.052","heading":"CIVIL INVESTIGATIVE DEMAND.","body":"If the attorney general has reason to believe that a person may be in possession, custody, or control of any documentary material or other evidence or may have any information relevant to a civil racketeering investigation, the attorney general may, before beginning a civil proceeding, issue in writing and serve on the person a civil investigative demand requiring the person to:\n(1) produce any of the documentary material for inspection and copying;\n(2) answer in writing any written interrogatories;\n(3) give oral testimony; or\n(4) provide any combination of civil investigative demands under Subdivisions (1)-(3).\nAdded by Acts 2017, 85th Leg., R.S., Ch. 685 (H.B. 29), Sec. 5, eff.
