Education Code § 12A.001","heading":"AUTHORIZATION.","body":"(a) Subject to Subsection (b), a school district may be designated as a district of innovation in accordance with this chapter.\n(b) A school district is eligible for designation as a district of innovation only if the district's most recent performance rating under Section 39.054 reflects at least acceptable performance.\n(c) Consideration of designation as a district of innovation may be initiated by:\n(1) a resolution adopted by the board of trustees of the district; or\n(2) a petition signed by a majority of the members of the district-level committee established under Section 11.251.\nAdded by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1046 (H.B. 1842), Sec. 4, eff.
