Education Code § 28.0051","heading":"DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAM.","body":"(a) A dual language immersion program should be designed to produce students with a demonstrated mastery, in both English and one other language, of the required curriculum under Section 28.002(a).\n(b) The commissioner by rule shall adopt:\n(1) minimum requirements for a dual language immersion program implemented by a school district;\n(2) standards for evaluating:\n(A) the success of a dual language immersion program; and\n(B) the performance of schools that implement a dual language immersion program; and\n(3) standards for recognizing:\n(A) schools that offer an exceptional dual language immersion program; and\n(B) students who successfully complete a dual language immersion program.\n(c) A school district may implement a dual language immersion program in a manner and at elementary grade levels consistent with rules adopted by the commissioner under this section.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 925, Sec. 2, eff.
