Education Code § 29.1543","heading":"EARLY EDUCATION REPORTS.","body":"(a) The agency shall produce and make available to the public on the agency's Internet website annual district and campus-level reports containing information from the previous school year on early education in school districts and open-enrollment charter schools. A report under this section must contain:\n(1) the information required by Section 29.1532(c) to be reported through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS);\n(2) a description of the reading instruments administered in accordance with Section 28.006(c-2);\n(3) the number of students who were administered a reading instrument administered in accordance with Section 28.006(c-2);\n(4) the number of students whose scores from a reading instrument administered in accordance with Section 28.006(c-2) indicate kindergarten readiness in reading;\n(5) the number of kindergarten students who were enrolled in a prekindergarten program, including a program offered through a partnership under Section 29.153, in the previous school years in the same district or school as the district or school in which the student attends kindergarten;\n(6) the number and percentage of students who perform satisfactorily on the third grade reading language arts or mathematics assessment instrument administered under Section 39.023, disaggregated by whether the student was eligible for free prekindergarten under Section 29.153;\n(7) the number of students described by Subdivision (6) who attended kindergarten in the district, disaggregated by:\n(A) whether the student met the kindergarten readiness standard on a reading instrument adopted under Section 28.006;\n(B) whether the student attended prekindergarten in the district, including a program offered through a partnership under Section 29.153; and\n(C) the type of prekindergarten the student attended, if applicable;\n(8) the information described by Subdivisions (6) and (7) disaggregated by whether the student is educationally disadvantaged; and\n(9) the number of students identified as having a vision disorder or other vision problem requiring vision care under the screening program described by Section 36.004, Health and Safety Code, disaggregated by:\n(A) grade level;\n(B) gender;\n(C) race;\n(D) ethnicity;\n(E) the student's status as educationally disadvantaged;\n(F) the number of times the student was previously identified as having a vision disorder or other vision problem;\n(G) the identified vision disorder or problem; and\n(H) the type of screening equipment used for the screening.\nText of subsection effective on September 01, 2027\n(b) Subject to appropriation or from money otherwise available for the purpose, the agency shall, in compliance with all applicable federal and state student privacy laws, acquire and maintain a third-party data management system to facilitate the reporting of information under this section.\nAdded by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 142 (H.B. 4), Sec. 5, eff.
