Education Code § 38.0101","heading":"AUTHORITY TO EMPLOY OR CONTRACT WITH NONPHYSICIAN MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL.","body":"(a) A school district may employ or contract with one or more nonphysician mental health professionals.\n(b) In this section, \"nonphysician mental health professional\" means:\n(1) a psychologist licensed to practice in this state and designated as a health-service provider;\n(2) a registered nurse with a master's or doctoral degree in psychiatric nursing;\n(3) a licensed clinical social worker;\n(4) a professional counselor licensed to practice in this state; or\n(5) a marriage and family therapist licensed to practice in this state.\nAdded by Acts 2019, 86th Leg., R.S., Ch. 352 (H.B. 18), Sec. 1.12, eff.
