Education Code § 39.265","heading":"FUNDING.","body":"The award system may be funded by donations, grants, or legislative appropriations. The commissioner may solicit and receive grants and donations for the purpose of making awards under this subchapter. A small portion of the award funds may be used by the commissioner to pay for the costs associated with sponsoring a ceremony to recognize or present awards to schools or districts under this subchapter. The donations, grants, or legislative appropriations shall be accounted for and distributed by the agency. The awards are subject to audit requirements established by the State Board of Education.\nAmended by:\nActs 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 895 (H.B. 3), Sec. 59, eff.
