Education Code § 61.082","heading":"RESEARCH.","body":"(a) The board shall:\n(1) encourage institutions of higher education and the faculty of those institutions to individually or through collaborative effort conduct human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) related research; and\n(2) recognize achievements in basic and applied HIV-related research.\n(b) The board shall encourage and fund applied and basic HIV-related research through its ongoing research programs, including the Advanced Technology and Advanced Research Programs.\nAdded by Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 1195, Sec. 18, eff.
