Election Code § 254.001","heading":"RECORDKEEPING REQUIRED.","body":"(a) Each candidate and each officeholder shall maintain a record of all reportable activity.\n(b) Each campaign treasurer of a political committee shall maintain a record of all reportable activity.\n(c) The record must contain the information that is necessary for filing the reports required by this chapter.\n(d) A person required to maintain a record under this section shall preserve the record for at least two years beginning on the filing deadline for the report containing the information in the record.\n(e) A person who violates this section commits an offense. An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor.\nAmended by Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 899, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1987.","path":["ELECTION CODE","TITLE 15.
