Estates Code § 1054.051","heading":"APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN AD LITEM IN GUARDIANSHIP PROCEEDING.","body":"(a) Subject to Subsection (b), the judge may appoint a guardian ad litem to represent the interests of an incapacitated person or proposed ward in a guardianship proceeding.\n(b) A person appointed as a guardian ad litem may not be:\n(1) an interested person, as defined by Section 1002.018(1); or\n(2) an attorney ad litem appointed for the guardianship proceeding except as provided by Section 1054.052, 1202.101, or 1203.051.\nAdded by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 823 (H.B. 2759), Sec. 1.02, eff.
