Estates Code § 204.056","heading":"CRIMINAL PENALTY.","body":"(a) An individual commits an offense if:\n(1) the individual intentionally releases an identifiable sample of the genetic material of another individual that was provided for purposes of genetic testing ordered under this subchapter; and\n(2) the release:\n(A) is for a purpose not related to the proceeding to declare heirship; and\n(B) was not ordered by the court or done in accordance with written permission obtained from the individual who provided the sample.\n(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 680 (H.B. 2502), Sec. 1, eff.
