Estates Code § 22.007","heading":"COURT; COUNTY COURT, PROBATE COURT, AND STATUTORY PROBATE COURT.","body":"(a) \"Court\" means and includes:\n(1) a county court in the exercise of its probate jurisdiction;\n(2) a court created by statute and authorized to exercise original probate jurisdiction; and\n(3) a district court exercising original probate jurisdiction in a contested matter.\n(b) The terms \"county court\" and \"probate court\" are synonymous and mean:\n(1) a county court in the exercise of its probate jurisdiction;\n(2) a court created by statute and authorized to exercise original probate jurisdiction; and\n(3) a district court exercising probate jurisdiction in a contested matter.\n(c) \"Statutory probate court\" means a court created by statute and designated as a statutory probate court under Chapter 25, Government Code. For purposes of this code, the term does not include a county court at law exercising probate jurisdiction unless the court is designated a statutory probate court under Chapter 25, Government Code.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 680 (H.B. 2502), Sec. 1, eff.
