Family Code § 2.203","heading":"CEREMONY.","body":"(a) On receiving an unexpired marriage license, an authorized person may conduct the marriage ceremony as provided by this subchapter.\n(b) A person may assent to marriage by the appearance of a proxy appointed in the affidavit authorized by Subchapter A if the person is:\n(1) a member of the armed forces of the United States stationed in another country in support of combat or another military operation; and\n(2) unable to attend the ceremony.\nAdded by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 7, Sec. 1, eff.
