Family Code § 2.207","heading":"MARRIAGE CONDUCTED AFTER LICENSE EXPIRED; PENALTY.","body":"(a) A person who is to conduct a marriage ceremony shall determine whether the license has expired from the county clerk's endorsement on the license.\n(b) A person who conducts a marriage ceremony after the marriage license has expired commits an offense. An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $200 and not more than $500.\nAdded by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 7, Sec. 1, eff.
