Government Code § 1477.001","heading":"AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY FOR LEASE TO PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ENTITY.","body":"(a) The commissioners court of a county may acquire real property and may construct or acquire a building or other facility for the purpose of leasing the real property, building, or other facility to:\n(1) a political subdivision or state agency for public use; or\n(2) an individual, private corporation, or other private entity for use in manufacturing or another commercial activity.\n(b) The commissioners court may not acquire real property under Subsection (a) by eminent domain.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 227, Sec. 1, eff.
