Government Code § 2006.001","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this subchapter:\n(1) \"Micro-business\" means a legal entity, including a corporation, partnership, or sole proprietorship, that:\n(A) is formed for the purpose of making a profit;\n(B) is independently owned and operated; and\n(C) has not more than 20 employees.\n(1-a) \"Rural community\" means a municipality with a population of less than 25,000.\n(2) \"Small business\" means a legal entity, including a corporation, partnership, or sole proprietorship, that:\n(A) is formed for the purpose of making a profit;\n(B) is independently owned and operated; and\n(C) has fewer than 100 employees or less than $6 million in annual gross receipts.\n(3) \"State agency\" means a department, board, bureau, commission, division, office, council, or other agency of the state and includes an officer who is authorized by law to determine contested cases.\nAdded by Acts 1993, 73rd Leg., ch. 268, Sec. 1, eff.
