Government Code § 2054.024","heading":"VACANCY.","body":"(a) The governor shall appoint a board member to fill a vacancy under the same procedure that applied to the original appointment for that position.\n(b) If the presiding officer's position is vacant, the executive director shall perform nonvoting duties of the presiding officer until the governor designates a new presiding officer.\n(c) If the final result of an action brought in a court of competent jurisdiction is that a board member may not serve on the board under the Texas Constitution, the governor shall appoint a replacement who may serve.\nAdded by Acts 1993, 73rd Leg., ch. 268, Sec. 1, eff.
