Government Code § 2054.063","heading":"ELECTRONIC REPORTING TO STATE AGENCIES.","body":"The department shall advise and consult with state agencies to assess opportunities for allowing persons to electronically file with an agency information that the agency requires a person to report. The department shall identify the cost of implementing an electronic reporting procedure and any barriers to electronic reporting. The department may:\n(1) survey state agencies to identify:\n(A) electronic reporting efforts currently being used by an agency;\n(B) common needs among agencies; and\n(C) opportunities to use a standardized approach to electronic reporting;\n(2) identify the costs associated with electronic reporting;\n(3) identify reports that may be filed electronically;\n(4) advise an agency regarding ways the agency may effectively and economically allow electronic reporting to the agency; and\n(5) develop and implement a plan to adopt electronic reporting in state government, whenever it is effective and efficient to do so.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 36, Sec. 1, eff.
