Government Code § 2155.143","heading":"PURCHASE OF CARE AND TREATMENT SERVICES BY TEXAS JUVENILE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT.","body":"(a) The Texas Juvenile Justice Department may purchase care and treatment services, including educational services, for its wards.\n(b) The Texas Juvenile Justice Department shall:\n(1) negotiate purchases under this section to achieve fair and reasonable prices at rates that do not exceed any maximum provided by law; and\n(2) select service providers according to each provider's qualifications and demonstrated competence.\nAdded by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 41, Sec. 1, eff.
