Government Code § 2306.756","heading":"OWNER-BUILDER EDUCATION CLASSES.","body":"(a) A state-certified nonprofit owner-builder housing program shall offer owner-builder education classes to potential owner-builders. A class under this section must provide information on:\n(1) the financial responsibilities of an owner-builder under this subchapter, including the consequences of an owner-builder's failure to meet those responsibilities;\n(2) the building or rehabilitation of housing by owner-builders;\n(3) resources for low-cost building materials available to owner-builders; and\n(4) resources for building or rehabilitation assistance available to owner-builders.\n(b) A nonprofit owner-builder housing program may charge a potential owner-builder who enrolls in a class under this section a reasonable fee not to exceed $50 to offset the program's costs in providing the class.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 1548, Sec. 1, eff.
