Government Code § 24.021","heading":"INCOMPETENCY.","body":"For purposes of Article XV, Section 6, of the Texas Constitution, \"incompetency\" means:\n(1) gross ignorance of official duties;\n(2) gross carelessness in the discharge of official duties; or\n(3) inability or unfitness to promptly and properly discharge official duties because of a serious mental or physical defect that did not exist at the time of the judge's election.\nAdded by Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 18, eff.
