Government Code § 30.01592","heading":"CREATION.","body":"On creation of the initial municipal court of record, the governing body of the city shall determine the method of selecting the judge of a municipal court of record by:\n(1) adopting an ordinance that provides for the appointment of a municipal judge by the governing body of the city;\n(2) adopting an ordinance that provides for the election of a municipal judge by the qualified voters of the city; or\n(3) ordering an election in which the qualified voters of the city determine whether a municipal judge is appointed by the governing body of the city or elected.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 691, Sec. 136, eff.
