Government Code § 301.026","heading":"CONTEMPT OF LEGISLATURE.","body":"(a) A person commits an offense if the person:\n(1) has been summoned as a witness to testify or produce papers by either house or any legislative committee; and\n(2) refuses to appear, refuses to answer relevant questions, or refuses to produce required books, papers, records, or documents.\n(b) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000 and by imprisonment for not less than 30 days nor more than 12 months.\nActs 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 479, Sec. 1, eff.
