Government Code § 391.002","heading":"STATE SYMBOLS.","body":"(a) The legislature must specify an item's historical or cultural significance to the state before designating the item as a state symbol.\n(b) The legislature may not designate any of the following as a state symbol:\n(1) a commercial product or an item that promotes or advocates the use of a commercial product;\n(2) an individual;\n(3) an event; or\n(4) a place.\n(c) Repealed by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1081, Sec. 4, eff.
