Government Code § 411.253","heading":"INITIATION OF INVESTIGATIONS.","body":"The office of inspector general may only initiate an investigation based on:\n(1) authorization from the commission;\n(2) approval of the inspector general or deputy inspector general;\n(3) approval of the director, a deputy director, an assistant director of the Texas Rangers, or an assistant director of the criminal investigations division for criminal investigations; or\n(4) commission rules or approved commission policies.\nAdded by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 1308 (H.B. 3099), Sec. 2, eff.
