Government Code § 487.252","heading":"TEXAS HEALTH SERVICE CORPS PROGRAM.","body":"(a) Subject to available funding, the department shall establish a program to assist communities in recruiting and retaining physicians to practice in medically underserved areas.\n(b) The department by rule shall establish:\n(1) eligibility criteria for applicants;\n(2) stipend application procedures;\n(3) guidelines relating to stipend amounts;\n(4) procedures for evaluating stipend applications; and\n(5) a system of priorities relating to the:\n(A) geographic areas covered;\n(B) medical specialties eligible to receive funding under the program; and\n(C) level of stipend support.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1424, Sec. 1, eff.
