Government Code § 487.255","heading":"STIPENDS.","body":"(a) The department shall award stipends to physicians for one-year periods. A stipend awarded under this subchapter may not exceed $15,000 each year.\n(b) The department may renew a stipend used to assist a particular physician.\n(c) A physician is not eligible for a stipend under this subchapter for a period longer than is ordinarily and customarily required for the completion of residency training for first board eligibility.\n(d) A physician who receives a stipend under this subchapter is not eligible to receive assistance under a state educational loan repayment program or other state incentive program.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1424, Sec. 1, eff.
