Government Code § 487.451","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this subchapter:\n(1) \"Health care professional\" means:\n(A) an advanced nurse practitioner;\n(B) a dentist;\n(C) a dental hygienist;\n(D) a laboratory technician;\n(E) a licensed vocational nurse;\n(F) a licensed professional counselor;\n(G) a medical radiological technologist;\n(H) an occupational therapist;\n(I) a pharmacist;\n(J) a physical therapist;\n(K) a physician;\n(L) a physician assistant;\n(M) a psychologist;\n(N) a registered nurse;\n(O) a social worker;\n(P) a speech-language pathologist;\n(Q) a veterinarian;\n(R) a chiropractor; and\n(S) another appropriate health care professional identified by the department.\n(2) \"Program\" means the community healthcare awareness and mentoring program for students established under this subchapter.\n(3) \"Underserved urban area\" means an urban area of this state with a medically underserved population, as determined in accordance with criteria adopted by the department by rule, considering relevant demographic, geographic, and environmental factors.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 831, Sec. 1, eff.
