Government Code § 501.004","heading":"CLOTHING.","body":"The department shall provide to inmates housed in facilities operated by the department suitable clothing that is of substantial material, uniform make, and reasonable fit and footwear that is substantial and comfortable. The department may not allow an inmate to wear clothing that is not furnished by the department, except as a reward for meritorious conduct. The department may allow inmates to wear underwear not furnished by the department.\nAdded by Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 212, Sec. 2.01, eff. Sept. 1, 1989.
