Government Code § 508.035","heading":"PRESIDING OFFICER.","body":"(a) The governor shall designate one member to serve as presiding officer of the board.\n(b) The presiding officer serves in that capacity at the pleasure of the governor.\n(c) The presiding officer reports directly to the governor and serves as the administrative head of the board.\n(d) The presiding officer may:\n(1) delegate responsibilities and authority to other members of the board, parole commissioners, or to employees of the board;\n(2) appoint advisory committees from the membership of the board or from parole commissioners to further the efficient administration of board business; and\n(3) establish policies and procedures to further the efficient administration of the business of the board.\nAdded by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 12.01, eff.
