Government Code § 54.1232","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS; OATH OF OFFICE.","body":"(a) To be eligible for appointment as a magistrate, a person must:\n(1) be a citizen of the United States;\n(2) have resided in Comal County for at least the two years preceding the person's appointment; and\n(3) be at least 30 years of age.\n(b) A magistrate appointed under Section 54.1231 must take the constitutional oath of office required of appointed officers of this state.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 42, Sec. 1, eff.
