Government Code § 540.0053","heading":"STATEWIDE EFFORT TO PROMOTE MEDICAID ELIGIBILITY MAINTENANCE.","body":"(a) The commission shall develop and implement a statewide effort to assist recipients who satisfy Medicaid eligibility requirements and who receive Medicaid services through a Medicaid managed care organization with:\n(1) maintaining eligibility; and\n(2) avoiding lapses in Medicaid coverage.\n(b) As part of the commission's effort under Subsection (a), the commission shall:\n(1) require each Medicaid managed care organization to assist the organization's recipients with maintaining eligibility;\n(2) if the commission determines it is cost-effective, develop specific strategies for assisting recipients who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits under 42 U.S.C. Section 1381 et seq. with maintaining eligibility; and\n(3) ensure information relevant to a recipient's eligibility status is provided to the recipient's Medicaid managed care organization.\nAdded by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 769 (H.B. 4611), Sec. 1.01, eff.
