Government Code § 544.0253","heading":"CONDUCT OF PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION OF ALLEGED FRAUD OR ABUSE.","body":"In conducting a preliminary investigation of an allegation of fraud or abuse and before the allegation may proceed to a full investigation, the office of inspector general must:\n(1) review the allegation and all facts and evidence relating to the allegation; and\n(2) prepare a preliminary investigation report that documents:\n(A) the allegation;\n(B) the evidence the office reviewed, if available;\n(C) the procedures the office used to conduct the preliminary investigation;\n(D) the preliminary investigation findings; and\n(E) the office's determination of whether a full investigation is warranted.\nAdded by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 769 (H.B. 4611), Sec. 1.01, eff.
