Government Code § 546.0251","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this subchapter:\n(1) \"Child\" means an individual younger than 22 years of age who:\n(A) has a physical or developmental disability; or\n(B) is medically fragile.\n(2) \"Family-based alternative\" means a family setting in which the family provider or providers are specially trained to provide support and in-home care to children with disabilities or children who are medically fragile.\n(3) \"Family-based alternatives system\" means the system of family-based alternatives required under this subchapter.\n(4) \"Institution\" means any congregate care facility, including:\n(A) a nursing facility;\n(B) an ICF-IID;\n(C) a group home operated by the commission; and\n(D) a general residential operation for children with an intellectual disability that the commission licenses.\n(5) \"Waiver services\" means services provided under:\n(A) the medically dependent children (MDCP) waiver program;\n(B) the community living assistance and support services (CLASS) waiver program;\n(C) the home and community-based services (HCS) waiver program;\n(D) the deaf-blind with multiple disabilities (DBMD) waiver program; and\n(E) any other Section 1915(c) waiver program that provides long-term care services to children.\nAdded by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 769 (H.B. 4611), Sec. 1.01, eff.
