Government Code § 546.0703","heading":"ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND RECORDS.","body":"(a) A contracted organization may request information and records regarding a deceased individual as necessary to carry out the organization's duties. The requested information and records may include:\n(1) medical, dental, and mental health care information; and\n(2) information and records maintained by any state or local government agency, including:\n(A) a birth certificate;\n(B) law enforcement investigative data;\n(C) medical examiner investigative data;\n(D) juvenile court records;\n(E) parole and probation information and records; and\n(F) adult or child protective services information and records.\n(b) On request of the contracted organization, the custodian of the relevant information and records relating to a deceased individual shall provide those records to the organization at no charge.\nAdded by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 769 (H.B. 4611), Sec. 1.01, eff.
