Government Code § 54B.008","heading":"POWERS.","body":"Except as limited by an order of referral, an associate judge may:\n(1) conduct a hearing;\n(2) hear evidence;\n(3) compel production of relevant evidence;\n(4) rule on admissibility of evidence;\n(5) issue summons for the appearance of witnesses;\n(6) examine witnesses;\n(7) swear witnesses for hearings;\n(8) make findings of fact on evidence;\n(9) formulate conclusions of law;\n(10) recommend the judgment to be made in a case;\n(11) regulate all proceedings in a hearing before the associate judge;\n(12) rule on all criminal pretrial motions; and\n(13) perform any act and take any measure necessary and proper for the efficient performance of the associate judge's duties.\nAdded by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 861 (H.B. 3474), Sec. 5.007, eff.
