Government Code § 615.074","heading":"BENEFIT TO DEPENDENT.","body":"(a) An eligible surviving dependent who is a minor child is entitled to purchase or continue to purchase health insurance coverage until the date the dependent reaches the age of 18 or a later date to the extent required by state or federal law.\n(b) An eligible surviving dependent who is not a minor child is entitled to purchase or continue to purchase health insurance coverage until the earlier of:\n(1) the date the dependent becomes eligible for group health insurance through another employer; or\n(2) the date the dependent becomes eligible for federal Medicare benefits.\nAdded by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 76, Sec. 5.13(a), eff.
