Government Code § 656.0505","heading":"VOLUNTARY CERTIFICATION COURSE ON PROCUREMENT OF INFORMATION RESOURCES TECHNOLOGIES.","body":"(a) In this section:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Department of Information Resources.\n(2) \"Information resources technologies\" has the meaning assigned by Section 2054.003.\n(b) In coordination with the comptroller, the department shall develop and implement a certification course on the procurement of information resources technologies and make the course available to a person who:\n(1) holds a purchasing certification issued under Section 656.051;\n(2) holds a contract management certification issued under Section 656.052; or\n(3) holds both certifications described by Subdivisions (1) and (2).\n(c) The department shall provide the course at least quarterly and must provide the course in person.\n(d) The department shall certify a state agency employee who successfully completes the course.\n(e) Successful completion of the course may be credited toward any continuing education requirements for maintaining a certification under Section 656.051 or 656.052, or both.\nAdded by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1074 (H.B. 1500), Sec. 1, eff.
