Government Code § 71.001","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this chapter:\n(1) \"Chair\" means the chair of the council.\n(2) \"Council\" means the Texas Judicial Council.\n(3) \"Defendant\" means a person accused of a crime or juvenile offense, as those terms are defined by Section 79.001.\n(4) \"Public defender's office\" has the meaning assigned by Article 26.044(a), Code of Criminal Procedure.\nActs 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 480, Sec. 1, eff.
