Health and Safety Code § 1001.002","heading":"AGENCY AND AGENCY FUNCTIONS.","body":"(a) In this section, \"function\" includes a power, duty, program, or activity and an administrative support services function associated with the power, duty, program, or activity, unless consolidated under former Section 531.02012, Government Code.\n(b) The department is an agency of the state.\n(c) In accordance with former Subchapter A-1, Chapter 531, Government Code, and notwithstanding any other law, the department performs only functions related to public health, including health care data collection and maintenance of the Texas Health Care Information Collection program.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 198, Sec. 1.09.\nAmended by:\nActs 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 837 (S.B. 200), Sec. 1.16, eff.
