Health and Safety Code § 121.045","heading":"DISTRICT DIRECTOR.","body":"(a) The members of a public health district shall appoint the director of the district.\n(b) The director is the chief administrative officer of the public health district, and if the director is a physician, the director is the health authority in the district's jurisdiction.\n(c) A member may designate a person to perform its appointment duties under this section.\n(d) A director of a public health district who is not a physician shall appoint a physician as the health authority for the district, subject to the approval of the members and the department.\nActs 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff.
