Health and Safety Code § 13.037","heading":"DETERMINATION OF RESIDENCY.","body":"(a) A person is a resident of this state if the person:\n(1) is physically present and living voluntarily in this state;\n(2) intends to make a home in this state; and\n(3) is not in this state temporarily.\n(b) The intent to make a home in this state may be demonstrated by proof similar to or including:\n(1) the possession of documentation, such as a Texas driver's license, motor vehicle registration, or voter registration certificate;\n(2) the presence of personal effects at a specific abode in this state; or\n(3) employment in this state.\nActs 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff.
